A micro-cuvée that reinvents the concept of a garage wine, launched in 2020 by Pierre Raoux, 5th generation owner of Chateau d’Arsac. It is only its 4th vintage released after those of 2014, 2015, 2016 and recently 2019s.
Pierre Raoux chose to let the wines age in barrels, bottle and release them when he thinks they are ready to drink and at its maturity. It was Philippe Raoux, owner of the Château d'Arsac, who had procured the first collections of these garage wines - confidential vintages produced in small quantities. The 2019 vintage as reference, comes from a plot selection in the northern Médoc, and is made up of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Petit Verdot.
1,200 to 3,000 bottles produced per vintage depending on the year’s harvest - 2,400 bottles were produced for 2019 and are numbered: "The idea is to offer a great vintage at an affordable price", notes Pierre Raoux who defines it as follows: "This wine with its deep color offers an expressive and intense bouquet on the nose, resolutely Médoc, complex in which we find black berries in the background, but also spices, cedar and roasted cocoa". Cultivating its assumed retro side.
